As one of, if not the, premier team in the Colorado karting market, Christian Bird Motorsports became a little stronger this past week. Inking a deal with Grand Junction Motor Speedway, Christian Bird’s operation will become the official race team of Grand Junction Motor Speedway as drivers look to progress their club level efforts to a regional level program with national level experience.
“I am excited to be linked with a track and club only 15 minutes away from my residence,” explained Bird. “Grand Junction Motor Speedway was my home growing up, and I am happy that it is now the new home of Christian Bird Motorsports. Not only will the facility provide shop space for our growing program, it will also allow me to interact with many more customers and potential customers on a personal level through our trackside support and driver coaching programs.”
Additionally, Christian Bird will look to elevate participation in corporate outings at the facility as well increase chassis and part sales.
“Christian has been an asset to the Colorado karting community and has brought his program to a whole new level in the past year,” explained Stacey Cook, Owner of the Grand Junction Motor Speedway. “He will be able to provide our track customers with professional driver coaching and a program that can bring them to regional and national events if they desire. He has a good head on his shoulders and some great ideas for corporate programs in the Grand Junction and surrounding areas.”
Bird continued, “I can’t thank the Cook family enough, especially Stacey, for taking the time to listen to my ideas and assist me in putting together a plan that will be beneficial for all involved. This is a big deal for me, and I will push as hard as possible to be successful.”
The next event on the Christian Bird Motorsports schedule is the upcoming fifth round of the Colorado Karting Tour on July 28th at IMI Motorsports in Dacono, Colorado.
